Nestled in the heart of the mountains, surrounded by breathtaking nature, our cozy hut with a sunny terrace and rustic lounges awaits you. Our Animals
The ascent to the large Seefeld Lake starts directly from our refuge. The trail no. 15, full of switchbacks, will lead you up to the lake. Once you reach the ridge, the deep blue color of the lake will captivate you with its size and the play of light that changes with the seasons.
Alpine Refuge
During the warm summer months, we also offer the possibility of staying overnight with us. Become part of our alpine life, whether for a short stay or for several days.
Dairy
At our Wieserhütte, at 1,850 meters, you’ll also find a traditional dairy full of delicacies.

Our Tyrolean Specialties
With great passion, our hostess Petra prepares various types of dumplings every day, which are beloved by our guests. Alongside our flavorful alpine cheese and fresh buttermilk, you will find Kaiserschmarren, delicious Hüttennudeln (mountain noodles), and many other authentic regional dishes.
Our Dairy
With passion, our master Simon runs the alpine dairy, where the fresh milk from our alpine cows is turned into a variety of products. You can watch Simon at work and discover the secrets of cheese production. From our alpine milk, we make different types of cheese, butter, yogurt, and buttermilk, all of which you can taste or purchase directly on-site.

Summer and Winter Hikes
Experience unforgettable hikes in the Altfasstal Valley to the Seefeld Lakes, Seefeldspitze, and Gaisjoch. In addition, you’ll find nearby trails connecting to Pfunders and Vals. Since 2025, our hut has also been open in winter: after a pleasant snowshoe hike in the snowy Altfasstal Valley, we will welcome you into our warm and rustic stube.
Seefeld Lakes 2,260 m
2 km from Wieserhütte | Elevation gain: 430 m

Seefeldspitze 2,719 m
4.8 km from Wieserhütte | Elevation gain: 820 m
From the large Seefeld Lake, continue along the shore, climbing up an impressive gorge, passing by our Hochalm hut. On trail no. 6, you will pass the medium and small Seefeld Lakes, ideal for a peaceful break in nature. From the small lake, it takes about 30 minutes to reach the summit. From there, you will enjoy a breathtaking panorama, from the Zillertal glaciers to the Dolomites.
Through Kleingitsch to Moseralm
4 km from Wieserhütte | Elevation gain: 410 m
The ascent starts on the right side of the valley, following the small stream of the Altfasstal. You will pass by the Pranter Stadl Hut and, along a winding trail through the forest, reach the Untere Weißenalm. From here, continue uphill through pastures toward Kleingitsch. Once you reach the ridge, in about 40 minutes you will reach Moseralm, where an incredible panorama awaits, along with a beautiful observation platform perfect for a contemplative stop.
Fallmetzer 2,568 m
3.5 km from Wieserhütte | Elevation gain: 650 m
The ascent starts on the right side of the valley, following the small stream of the Altfasstal, and passing by the Pranter Stadl Hut. Continue towards Weißenalm, then head towards Kleiner Gitsch and take a left onto the steeper trail no. 6B. The path leads to the Falzarer Joch and continues up to the summit of Fallmetzer. From the summit, you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the Altfasstal Valley and the surrounding mountains.
Requirements: good terrain handling, sturdy mountain footwear, and alpine experience.
To Rifugio Brixen 2,282 m
11.4 km from Wieserhütte | Elevation gain: 1,160 m
Rifugio Brixen is located in the Pfunderer Mountains, in Valles. The hike starts by ascending to the large Seefeld Lake, through the gorge, and continues to the High Seefeld Alm. From there, take the steep trail to the ridge. Once at the top, descend towards the Stinalm Hut (approx. 2,150 m). From here, another 6 km downhill will take you through the picturesque alpine village of Fanealm.
Duration: approx. 6 hours
Requirements: good physical condition, mostly easy-to-follow trails, secure footing required.
Bicycle Rental
Tired feet? We offer our guests the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing return journey by mountain bike through the beautiful Altfasstal Valley. Starting at just €8, you can comfortably hop on and ride to an agreed point in Maranza. Simple, convenient, and with a touch of adventure. It’s worth a try – saving up to 2 hours of walking!

Together, we manage the Wieserhütte: a peaceful mountain retreat where you can breathe deeply, unwind, and feel at home. And for those looking for the perfect holiday spot down in the valley: at the Samerhof in Maranza, cosy apartments await you – ideal for relaxing days surrounded by nature, with beautiful views and true peace and quiet.
Wieserhof
An adventure paradise for children. A retreat for adults. In winter, right next to the slopes of the Gitschberg Jochtal ski resort. In summer, many hiking trails start from the farm and lead into the alpine pasture area. Perfect for your family vacation!
SAMER HOF
Experience a vacation close to nature at the Samerhof, our ancestral farm in Meransen. The vacation apartments combine South Tyrolean charm, modern comfort, and breathtaking views of the mountains—ideal for relaxation and active vacations.

Prices & Information
You can book accommodation in a double room from €86.00 for 2 people per day. We offer overnight accommodation in dormitories from €30.00 per person per day. In both cases, our delicious Alpine breakfast is included in the price.
The prices for double rooms apply to a stay of at least 5 nights and a minimum occupancy of 2 persons per day.
Included in the price: bed linen, face and bath towels.
The dormitory is suitable for short stays. We kindly ask you to bring a sleeping bag, towels, and bath towels.
For your four-legged family member, we charge €12.00 per day (without food).
Payment can be made in cash or by card.
Transit Authorization
With a stay of at least 5 days, our guests can drive directly to the refuge. We will issue a transit authorization for this. For the first trip to the hut, the booking confirmation serves as a transit authorization. Your alpine holiday in the midst of nature should be a place of recharge, tranquility, and relaxation. We encourage you to plan your stay mindfully and minimize car usage. For guests staying less than 5 days, we offer parking at my brother’s Wieserhof. If needed, we can transport heavy luggage to the hut.
Opening Hours
Our hut is open daily from mid-May to early November during the summer. Our kitchen is open for hikers from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
In winter, we are open during lunchtime from mid-December to early April. We are closed on Saturdays.

Suitable for bicycles and strollers
Our Wieserhütte is located in the beautiful Altfasstal in Meransen, a high plateau above the Eisack Valley. From the Altfasstal parking lot in Meransen, it’s about 6 km to us. You can comfortably reach us by following the forest road through the Altfasstal, alongside the babbling creek with 3 Kneipp stations, perfect for resting and relaxing for both adults and children.
For those who are fit, you can also reach us via the slightly more challenging Jägersteig or the Walderjochsteig.
If you prefer to use the Gitschberg cable car, you can reach us from the mountain station, heading towards Zassleralm, to Ochsenboden, and then down into the Altfasstal.
Experienced hikers can reach us via the high-altitude trail Schellenbergsteig (a beautiful panoramic path) to the Seefeld lakes. Requirements for this route: sure-footedness and no fear of heights.
